EQUILIBRIUM Confirms Split With Singer, Drummer
February 17, 2010German pagan metallers EQUILIBRIUM have confirmed that they have parted ways with vocalist Helge Stang and drummer Manuel Di Camillo (as first reported by BLABBERMOUTH.NET on February 11). The band's statement on the matter reads as follows:
"Unfortunately we have to tell you that EQUILIBRIUM, singer Helge and drummer Manu have parted ways due to personal reasons. There is no bad blood between us and we wish them the best of luck for all future endeavours. We shared some really special moments on stage. Nevertheless, this will in now way affect the music of EQUILIBRIUM. The songs will still be written and composed by René Berthiaume [guitar].
"At the moment we are at the Helion Studios in Munich recording our third album which is planned to be released in June. As of now, we can tell you that it will be heavy, epic, bombastic, emotional and full of musical surprises!
"All scheduled shows will take place as announced.
"As soon as we got news regarding new members, we will let you know at once! Stay tuned!"
EQUILIBRIUM's "Blut im Auge" video can be viewed below. The track comes off the group's second album, "Sagas", which entered the German Media Control chart at position No. 30 back in July 2008. The album features a guest appearance by Ulrich Herkenhoff, who is said to be "one of the most famous pinpipe players and can be heard on the soundtrack of 'The Lord of the Rings - Return of the King'." "Sagas" also features a violin solo by Agnes Malich, deputy concertmaster of the Augsburg Philharmonic Orchestra.
